Studio Also Pty Ltd is interested in forming relationships with a number of development partners.
We have been engineering Drupal sites, largely focused on the back-ends, since 2005.
We sometimes pass on tasks to a range of other Drupal professionals, and we see that ongoing partnership with people or companies with specific skillsets or focus is of benefit to them, to us and to the clients who contact us through this site.
We are interested in beginning conversation with you if you feel you have what it takes to become a development partner with exposure here on drupal.com.au.
The particular partners we are interested in right now are:
a. A Front-end design partner
b. An SEO partner
c. A social media partner
d. A pre-packaged pre-priced site delivery partner.
e. A journalism partner
f. A historian partner
We are also in conversation currently with an offshore development partner, and are open to approaches from professionals in other specialties.
What might we do together?
a. A Front-end design partner
We are computer scientists, not designers. We need you.
b. An SEO partner
Know more than us about how to optimise keywords and content to get on top? But perhaps less than us in how to go about building that into a Drupal site, the way Drupal would like you to?
c. A social media partner
Know more than us about how to leverage social media? But perhaps you don't have the time to skill yourself to an understanding of how Drupal can be engineered connectively with those habitats?
d. A pre-packaged pre-priced site delivery partner.
Ready to roll-out a system that is tight enough to pre-quote $777, or $7777 or $77,777? How can we work together on that?
e. A journalism partner
Got a yearning to go out there with your digital interfaces and link us in to what's happening today in the Drupal world?
f. A historian partner
The history of Drupal in Australia, anyone?
What are we looking for in a Development partner.
We're not insisting on any of these things in particular, treat the entire list as orientative of where we would like to head with this.
1. When you think about the time period you have been specialising in Drupal, and the time period you intend to continue deepening that specialisation into the future, you measure in terms of years rather than months.
2. You are the decision maker in your organisation or company, whether or not you also sit on the 'front-desk'
3. You enjoy, and enter into, communication; and feel sad if you drop communication without closure. You can, when you choose to, be precise, concise, accurate, targeted and focused in your communications. You choose that often enough for us to trust it is ongoing.
4. You have an authentic verifiable online presence already in-place whether that be on drupal.org, groups.drupal.org, linkedin, or on our social engagement platform of choice, Facebook.
5. You understand that things and relationships take time to build.
6. You can meet us in Melbourne sometime during our initial conversation and then probably at least once or twice a year after that.
7. You or your company have worked up a skill-set and understanding and resources in a particular area of Drupal Delivery, and you wish to focus on that area while somebody else takes care of other aspects of the delivery.
We have particular ideas about how these development partnerships may be structured. We do not envisage sub-contract arrangements. We envisage partnerships in the sense that we work alongside each other jointly delivering complex site visions.
We intend that the results of our collaborations will be prominent here at drupal.com.au

* By authentic on-line presence we mean a presence that is not motivated and constrained entirely by some sort of corporate P.R. policy but is driven by a real live person wanting to connect with other real live people and -almost as a side-effect of that - join together in the task of building real live Drupal internet homes for real live clients. (We may compromise on that a little.)
