There is a new version of this site in the pipeline but we cannot right now estimate when it will come live.
Meanwhile, we are offering this version of the site for promoting Drupal in Australia.
This site is now available to legitimate members of the Drupal Australian Community to promote Drupal in Australia.
Promotion may be for events, sites, businesses, projects, people, ideas, or other Drupal related phenomena.
The new version of the site will allow you to self-manage you promotion. For now, we offer to place your notice. We reserve the right to moderate submissions for spam or such, with or without notification.

We have been experimenting with incorporating some feeds. Often the changes we make here are reflected onto Google within a few hours. The site has consistently come up number one for a search on drupal (within Australia), for many years.
I am always interested to see what Google does pick up to display as the description. It changes, and the pattern for that change is not always apparent.
So, for example this morning (20/11/11), some hours after I began to feature Drupal Downunder on the home page, Google began displaying as the site description "Drupal Downunder is an Australian-run, non-profit conference for the people who write, use and support the Drupal Content Management ...".

Yesterday I moved the feed on the home page from drupaldownunder up above the feed from drupalfinder, and today google is picking up the text re Drupal Downunder as more relevant then the text about Drupal Finder. Almost real time SEO.
